| Curios and Relics | Curios and Relics (also known as C&R) is a special designation made by the ATF to allow licensed collectors (also known as C&R holders) to buy and sell C&R firearms without requiring a commercial FFL to handle the transfer. The ATF maintains a list of items which qualify as C&R firearms. In general, firearms qualify as a C&R if they are 50 years or more old or otherwise have some certifiable collector value, are not classified as destructive devices or machine guns, and have not been modified. Sound confusing? It is. To be safe, make sure your item appears on the C&R list and is unmodified before listing it here. | |

Firearms (Modern) Modern Firearms are defined by the ATF as firearms built after 1898. All items listed in this category must be modern firearms. Firearm parts, ammunition, and accessories have their own categories and must be listed there. Items which meet the Collectible firearms, including antiques, commemoratives, and firearms which meet the ATF definition of a 'Curio and Relic' may be listed in the Collectible Firearms category. |
